Shrimp Boil Recipe

How to Boil Shrimp:

7 lb shrimp
3 3-ounce packages Zatarain's Crab Boil Seasoning
1 pound andouille or venison sausage, cut in 2-inch pieces
7 ears corn, cut in 3-inch pieces
1 lb small red potatoes
1 gal water
1 large lemon, quartered
3 artichokes, halfed
3 carrots, peeled and cut in 2-inch pieces
8 medium white onions, peeled
¼ cup salt or Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning
¼ cup hot sauce (Louisiana hot sauce, Baumer Foods Crystal or McIlhenny Tabasco)

In very large crawfish boiling pot with removable wire basket, heat water, crab boil, lemon, hot sauce and salt to boil. Add artichokes, carrots, onions and potatoes. Heat to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Carefully remove vegetables when ready.

To boiling mixture, add corn, sausage and shrimp. Increase heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 5 minutes until shrimp are tender. Then, carefully remove.

To serve, remove wire basked and pour out contents onto a table dressed in newspaper. Serve with lots of cold beer and French bread.
